Sprucing up the feathers

I've been much busier than usual for many days. When I did take a break and had a look out of the window at the rather overcast day I was cheered by this blackbird.

They have a harder time in our garden than most birds because they can't use the hanging bird feeders, although I've seen some try very hard. We have several pairs and I've noticed them more as the winter recedes.

But I have n't spotted one washing in the bird bath for a long time, so was pleased to see it sprucing itself up for the spring season.
