Found

A tennis ball sitting in the bushes. The jaggies is probably why it's there, no four legged owner bouncing around awaiting its retrieval.

Went for a walk up the wee hill to walk around the park but no walking thru the undergrowth. No walking stick with me either otherwise I could have knocked the ball out of the bushes for the next four legged one to have fun with.
