Sweet Child of Mine

What can you play?

We tried out a different children's group today. This one is called "Tiny Tots". It's in Dereham, so 20 minutes away in the car. It lasted 2 hours, cost £1.75. And there were free refreshments.

The girls enjoyed it. Rebecca had very little to do with me from the minute I put her down. Obviously I had one eye on her the whole time.

They have a proper bouncy castle out! At every session! Rebecca spent half the time holding onto the edge of it bouncing herself up and down. I took her on it for a little while and I got loads of smiles and giggles.

A few of the older girls obviously took a shine to her and "looked after" her a bit. But she was very content.

Elizabeth played well too. She ran off with a pram for a while. She liked the bouncy castle, but said there were too many people on it (not true). She found some books and spent a while next to me reading.

And I got chatting to a few mums that have two children as well, about the same age as mine. The mums there seem very welcoming, or at least the ones I spoke to were.

So, lots of positives about the session. The negatives are that there's no structure. It's very much a free for all, and not unlike the groups we've been going to already. I can see Elizabeth getting tired of it quickly. But it would provide us with another option if the "Tumble Tots" session doesn't go well next week.

Rebecca's doing a thing at the moment. She likes to have a toy in each hand. But they have to be the same thing: two wooden animals from the ark, two tins from the shopping basket, two little people etc. And don't ever try to take them off her!
