Whistler Mountain

Canada's National Ski day! 

We made our first journey to Whistler today to try out some skiing with an Irish couple, Neal, who I work with, and his girlfriend Roisin . We managed to get a really good deal. It was $25 each for a full day lesson, rental equipment and a learners area pass for the day. We hired a Modo car, one of the many available car shares here in Vancouver, for the day and left Vancouver at 5.45 am to make sure we were there for the 8.30 meeting time. We anticipated much more traffic and were in whistler village by 7.30!

Fred our instructor was amazing and really informative with everything he said. We all managed to get level 1 skiing by lunch time and worked on level 2/3 in the afternoon. Even better Fred was confident enough to let us ski back down the mountain rather than take the gondola. It was an amazing day and we will most certainly be returning for more skiing and possibly some summer activities. 

We finished skiing about 3.30pm and headed into the village for some food before driving back to Vancouver. We'll sleep tonight!
