Our pal from London is staying with us for a couple of nights and, although she's been to see us in Edinburgh loads of times over the years, we've never taken her out to North Berwick....until today. Lunch at the Seabird Centre, a walk on the beach and then coffee & cake at Steampunk. The town looked really pretty, she was suitably impressed. Not quite ready to move out there yet but....

Just in from a solo teatime cinema trip to see 'Moonlight' which was excellent. Maxing out the films this week as the next fortnight is likely to be extremely full-on workwise. Will also give a shout out to 'Hidden Figures' which we all went to see last night (Take the kids! It's a great story and a PG certificate!) and I'll give a verdict of 'pretty ropey' to 'Split' which was Thursday night's outing (but only because I'd made the effort to go out and 'Lion' was sold out when I got there, I probably wouldn't have actually bothered otherwise). I will also concur with an earlier jaybroek verdict of excellent to 'Toni Erdmann' that we saw earlier in the week and the 'Lego Batman Movie' was more than fun enough on Wednesday. And so concludeth the word-of-mouth cinema round-up.
