Young Blushing Bullfinch

I've been promising you this shot on twitter for a couple of days now, finally this young fellow sat nicely, and long enough for me to get a photo.

I have two male youngsters in the garden at the moment, the other has more adult feathers than this one, this one has a wonderful blushed breast, where those magnificent red feathers will finally come through. I am guessing that all the youngsters look like females to begin with, and are coloured that wonderful hazelnut brown.

Feeling a bit rubbish tonight, as I have a ear infection and have had to go to the doctors to get something to squirt in them! Hopefully I will be back on top form soon!
