Ludicrous

This annoys me every time I come round this particular corner.
With the pole for the One Way sign and the narrow pavement, if there's a car parked beside it (and there always is!) no-one can get past. I once saw a wheelchair user have to reverse and take the long way round... Idiotic! Surely they could have the sign on a bracket coming out of the wall?
