Mono Monday

The theme for this week is Love Your Pet. Since I don't have a Minty or a Pookie at my disposal at the moment, I've had to 'borrow' one. I accosted an elderly lady I often see walking her dog in the village, and asked if I could photograph her pet.

This is Carly, who is 12.5 years old and quite lame, but very friendly and biddable like most labs. Her current human adopted her, somewhat reluctantly she says, after Carly's first mistress died.

The reason for the reluctance was that she'd recently lost her much-loved dog and swore she'd never go through the heartache again. I think anyone who's ever lost a pet can relate to that...
