East Lothian WWII Coastal defences

There are concrete blocks all over the East Lothian coastline, as well as the stumps of anti-glider poles in bays. None of it was needed in the end.  My husband (keen on military history) has done some research about the remains of various - often very homemade - defences put up by the local Home Guard, including a Flame Fougasse on a tiny country road (why they ever thought the Germans would want to go there is puzzling) and a Spigot Mortar on the Eastern slope of Pencraig Brae overlooking East Linton. There are the remains of concrete road blocks in the woods at Tyningham, too.  Fascinating stuff if you know where to look and what it is.

Since this week's challenge is HISTORY, I think this photo of the anti-tank blocks in the dunes of Aberlady Nature Reserve qualifies.
