And it is this title because the whole of the beach looked like craters on the Moon.

The tide was well out and this strange effect from the previous tide was right across the complete beach.  In all the years we have been part of this scene ( since 1964 ), I have never seen a sight like this.

As you can see the sun was shining but today it has been horrible.  Grey with plenty of drizzle (Monday).  Just hoping tomorrow will be better or I might want to stay in bed.
