Learner

Big day today.  My son is learning to drive and today was our first trip out in my car with the L plates on, an occasion that fills me with an odd mixture of pride and trepidation.  We did a couple of laps round the block and managed not to hit anything, which is a relief.  I offered some advice as to where I thought he was going wrong (eg taking the bends too fast) and he stomped off in a mood.  After some soul searching I realise that what he actually wanted was not practical instruction , but actually just some reassurance for how well he was doing.  We will go out for another spin tomorrow and I will try and put some of my new found learning into practice.
