Tiny Tuesday - Clamp Screw
It amazing that this object seen up close and personal has a monumental quality about it. It is in fact the screw and handle of a very small clamp taken under my digital microscope. I am gradually learning how best to light subject under the microscope as it is so easy with any metal objects with shiny surfaces to blow out the highlights. The ring of LED lights around the lens can only be used at a very low level. Initially I tried lighting it from the side with a LED torch but was still losing the highlights and getting some really strange colours in the metallic surfaces even though I had found a reasonable white balance, Eventually this shot was taken using reflected light. I may well have to look at some sort of light tent to get the best quality.
I have added a mystery object as an extra today if any one in inclined to have a guess what it is.
