Confrontation

The onion flowers are a favourite place for the bees at present. These two came face-to-face and after a couple of seconds one backed off. Which one do you think withdrew first? A virtual chocolate fish to the blipper who not only guesses correctly, but also offers the best explanation for the withdrawal.

Today is the sixth anniversary of the devastating Christchurch earthquake. Much progress has been made to the city’s infrastructure. The extensive vacant land in the city is gradually being built on. Most homes have been repaired or rebuilt. However, there is still a long way to go before the city is more or less complete. There are still many people waiting for their homes to be rebuilt. (My daughter, FirehorseMia is one of them). Some are still waiting on their insurance companies’ pleasure. The once iconic cathedral in the Square is still derelict. The need for more mental health services is not being met. We are not out of the woods yet.
