Harvest

With the kids in school all day, I have a little bit of time to harvest some of the garden. Today involved cucumbers and tomatoes.

A week or so ago, I tried a recipe for Cucumber Salad... and LOVED it! So today, I made a couple more jars of that as well as Pepe's Sweet Pickles. This left me feeling a bit nostalgic and after I completed the pickles, I sat down and wrote a letter to Nana & Pepe. The pickles reminded me of all the Christmas Eve celebrations spent at their house - and my favorite foods included these pickles (Needhams & fudge were the others). My letter included some of these memories, as well as some pics of the kids this summer and the first day of school.

I also made Salsa today with our tomatoes... My house smelled soooo good! Overall, it was a very productive day - I even managed to get in some house cleaning and gardening in.
