Chinese calligraphy

I went to a 'Write your name in Chinese Calligraphy' workshop today. The first thing they did was come up with my Chinese name. The first character comes from my last name, 'ma' and the second and third characters from 'rissa'. The second character, my favorite one to draw, means beautiful and the third means veil. It took a bit to get use to holding the brush, strait up and down, rather then like a pen at an angle. They said that I did well for a beginner and I have to say I real enjoyed it!
