Well...............

I was wrong about the split in yesterday's tree ............... it is over 15' high.

The window fitters turned up (early), had a look, said it would only take two days and today was not going to be one of them!
They also said that the surveyor was wrong - they would 'work around' things like big heavy table and huge timber beds (new Elf'n'Safety rules!) so we would need to dismantle them.
Well they were told where they could stick the idea of dismantling and removing the bed!
Compromise - they will help move it a couple of feet sideways.
Just as well - and they may have to do it themselves .... my back has given up the ghost from bending over backwards to make life easy for the 6 of them! 

Lunchtime walk revealed a big, nicely grained, knot)  -- a trolley unable to get through the gate (the couple of mile walk with a locked security wheel must have been too much)  --  the unseasonal decorations
