Westminster Cathedral
I worked from home for a short time this morning, then caught the train to Victoria to go to an event at Pimlico. I got there far too early, and that, plus the beautiful light and views I kept seeing from the train inspired me to finally re-visit the bell tower at Westminster Cathedral. I'd been there over ten years ago with my friend when she was visiting from London, and have been meaning to go back ever since. It was only £2 then, and a very elderly man sitting on a stool in the lift took us up there, then kept reappearing every now and then to see if we were ready to go back down! Today it cost £6 (still not a bad price), and although someone (a young woman this time) escorted me up there, I was then left to my own devices and simply pressed the lift button when I was ready to go back down. I had the whole thing to myself the whole time (only about 15 minutes - it's quite small!) - I recommend it if you're ever in the area :)
The event at Pimlico was really interesting. I spoke to a couple of interesting people, too (despite my natural aversion to networking). Then hot-footed it back over to work for the last three hours of the day. Had a go at video calling my Mum on my way home (as my brother texted me to say he'd installed WhatsApp for her). We spent most of the time trying to work out how to do it, then about a minute actually video calling before I had to jump on my train. I will try again soon....
