Forces of Gravity

Forces of Gravity too their toll in many ways today, not just this lady's "posture".

Watching the action in the velodrome, first the start gate failed for Aileen McGlynn. Fortunately a restart was granted and she got a silver medal, it should have been gold.

Later, it failed again for Jody Cundy another British rider. A restart was declined and he was classified as a did not start. A real bitter pil as he was a dead cert for the Gold.

Then just to rub it in, in the mens pursuit final the rider from the USA claimed a malfunction at the start gate. Clearly his foot had come unclipped but not generally a good enough reason for a restart. But, it was allowed and he won gold over our rider.
