Abstract Thursday: Swirling stems
The shot was of our hydrangeas - currently mostly bare stems with a few bleached and hardy petals clinging on.
I copied it and rotated 180 degrees, inverted the colours on the copy, set the layer transparency for a balanced look, and messed around with blending modes (for any geeks, I ended up using "linear light"). Finally I flattened the image, gave it a twist and tweaked the contrast slightly.
I don't think this is quite colourful and lively enough to qualify for this week's optional "Carnival" theme, but I quite like how it turned out :)
