Shoes!
Thank you for all your nice comments! It's been a lovely start in Blipland for me.
I went shoe shopping today with my sister. She had to buy shoes for this prom thing she has in February (well not exactly like prom in the US but you know, fancy dresses and dancing) and these are the ones she bought. I like them a lot, but I would be nervous to dance in them because the heels are way too high for that for me.
And it's not just dancing on the dancefloor either, it's dancing in front of an audience. It's a tradition in Finnish high schools that once the seniors finish their actual classes in January or February and start to prepare for their exams, the second year students (high school lasts three years) perform old dances for the school and parents. The dances include polonaise, waltz, virginia reel, tango etc. The event is called Vanhojen tanssit or The prom of the old because they celebrate the fact that the 2nd year students are now the oldest students of the school. It's a very formal occasion and girls wear long evening dresses.
I really enjoyed my prom two years ago and I hope my sister likes hers too.
