Braveheart, Aberdeen
The William Wallace statue was created in 1888. It is positioned opposite His Majesty's Theatre, and across from Union Terrace Gardens.
The statue bears this inscription: I tell you a truth, liberty is the best of all things, my son, never live under any slavish bond.
This was my final morning in Aberdeen. The temperature was a cool 3 deg, and snow was forecast for the hills. I stepped off the plane in Abu Dhabi this evening to a hotter 37 deg.
