Port lympne

We are spending a couple of days at Port Lympne Wildlife Park. The weather has been very blustery and most of the animals were hiding.

The Mansion that is now a hotel was once the home of the late John Aspinall and was built in 1912 by Sir Herbert Baker for the MP Sir Philip. Sasoon.

There are murals of wild animals painted on all the walls of the public rooms. My blip is of part of the dining room where we had our evening meal.
The murals in this room were recently painted and one is of tigers attacking a hunter.

The mansion was converted into a boutique hotel with six bedrooms in 2014 and it is our third stay here.

The Aspinall Foundation protects rare and endangered species from the threat of extinction through a breeding and reintroduction programme and many of the animals are returned to their native environments.
