Crocus flower head

The wind has been battering our house for the last couple of days and has unfortunately taken its toll on our crocus's. This one was snapped off and still closed up in a tight bud. We bought a few into the house to have a look at the structure of a flower - an impromptu biology lesson on flower reproduction! While it was inside, the warmth made this one open up and it seemed a shame not to take a photo of it.  And so we also had a lesson on taking photo's and transferring them to a computer. :-)
