A Michigan Snowman
After a delicious breakfast at our B&B, Don and I drove into Northern Michigan to do some cross country skiing because reports were that they still have snow. This was a snowman in Wakefield, Michigan. They used brooms for hair, hub cabs for eyes and a five gallon pail for the pipe! The last few days have been very warm and I am sure he has lost some weight recently. We had a very nice ski at Powderhorn Trails in Ironwood, Michigan.
Tonight was the Book Across the Bay cross country ski race. We did not do the race because reports were that the snow had melted and the ice was covered in standing water. The course is over the ice on Lake Superior. Our friends did decided to participate, but chose to walk the 10K rather than ski. We waited at the finish line. Many of the skiers came in carrying their skies. Everyone was wet up to their knees. Our friends said it was pretty awful and slippery walking. They should have taken their ski poles along for support. Anyway, the after party was fun for a short time, then back to the B&B because everyone was beat.
