All the Colors

It's a wall of roving, but I think it looks more like Venetian glass beads. Roving is wool a couple of stages after it comes off the sheep, but before it becomes yarn. This particular kind is packaged to pull out from the center, which apparently is a good thing. I prefer my wool already in yarn form.

A group of us knitters had our annual trip to Stitches, an amazing national expo of all things yarn. We are all a little dazed after a few hours of color and fiber. Yes, of course I bought something: yarn to make a delicate lightweight top. I hesitate to call it a poncho, because that word conjures something heavy. Some of this yarn is made of paper! The project will have to get in line behind Mr S's sweater, but it never hurts to have something in the wings.
