On the back road to Picton

We left the vineyards of Marlborough this morning and as we had time to spare decided to take a back road to Picton. We drove along yet more gravel roads up and down and curling backwards and forth. This was a sight that delighted us at one stage. The road we travelled on can be seen on the hillside, zigging down.
We eventually got to Picton, checked in at our motel and boarded the mailboat which does exactly as it says - delivers and picks up mail from homesteads and little resorts all around the Queen Charlotte Sound. At one stage we came across a wedding being held at the Nowayinn, a beautiful setting and everyone looked very at ease all dressed up and looking elegant wth bare feet.
The extras include a gentleman taking delivery of mail bags for his community and one of the jetties we stop at, the lady briefly seen in red.
