The North Bedroom, Oxburgh Hall
First day volunteering with the National Trust - shadowing an experienced room guide - one feature of this room was this 'tester' bed - like a fourposter but no posts at the foot - the canopy is secured to the ceiling - I wouldn't trust it! Huge bed though, 6ft x 6ft 7inches! The other feature was the wallpaper - an exact replica of an earlier paper and the adjacent Boudoir had examples of other original and replica papers. Steady stream of visitors of all ages - I enjoyed it!
Storm 'Doris' had wreaked havoc in the grounds yesterday - 5 large Poplars and an old Pine down as well as several younger trees - the woodland part had to be closed today - the entire grounds and gardens were closed yesterday as a precaution.
