Finally ... a grape blip. This vine seems to have forgotten to grow leaves ... it has just one bunch of grapes and half a dozen leaves. You can clearly see five of the "six cuts" from the pruning, from which the new growth should have started, but evidently there was a problem; this lone bunch of grapes looks most odd clinging to a stem which is probably 50 years old.
A further "problem" is that this plot of vines is actually planted with black Carignan grapes. So what are these white grapes doing there anyway? It's quite common to see the odd out-of-place grape variety in older plots of vines here; people would plant a few table grapes among the ones destined to make wine. They're a harvester's perk, but would also be taken home to eat. One of our neighbours has a plot that's randomly planted with grenache gris and grenache noir; in the old days they all got thrown into the vat together.
Want a cuter blip? Here's Monsieur Mystère, today's spare blip, looking very fetching.
Yet again, all today's blips were brought to you by the new 35 mm lens.
