Kimmeridge

Another lovely day in Dorset.
We had an early morning walk along the Rodwell Trail into Weymouth - a lovely walk along what was once a railway line connecting Portland to Weymouth harbour to carry the Portland stone.
We then drove to Kimmeridge to visit the Etches fossil collection - a fantastic new museum of amazing fossils. Then we went down to Kimmeridge bay and were amazed at the number of fossils we could see in the stone on the beach. This one was about 8 inches across.
On our way home we stopped for a short walk at the forgotten village Tyneham - taken over by the army and never returned to the owners - a very sad but very interesting place.
