Grey teal......

.....cruising the waterways, a couple I would think but don't quote me.

They're widespread throughout New Zealand especially on lowland wetlands and estuaries. A small duck with mottled light brown plumage, pale faces with crimson eyes and white throats. Grey teal are agile in flight, able to fly straight upwards when disturbed. They're protected and native.

Our usual grocery shop and visit to R who was quite talkative, the twinkle had returned in his eyes and he was quite contented, each visit is different.

Lovely morning but a windy afternoon, the fires continue to burn causing evacuations and much devastation.....not good.

Another back-blip, good to get them done :)
