Watching Crossrail

poplar station is one of the busiest on the Docklands Light Railway. It is situated at the crossroads for trains going to Stratford, Woolwich, Tower Gateway and Greenwich. The chances are that if you travel on the DLR then at some point you travel through poplar. Between the station and the towers of Canary Wharf there is a large area of building works aimed at getting the area ready for the upcoming Crossrail station. This is a huge development and is due to be ready in 2018, the station will cement the areas importance as a transport crossroads for London. Here the shot captures two engineers using the raised walkway platform of poplar station for the surveying of the new development.
