How do we get the peanut?

This pair usually show up at the same time in the spring. Both of course are nearly 2 weeks early. They have not yet figured out how to get a peanut yet but both know I have one.. It is welcome to see both the grackle and the red wing black bird back to the lake.

In my extra shot I have a Canada Goose that fell through the thin ice. I found it rather odd, he did not seem to mind and flew out of the spot a few minutes later
