Real flowers

Yesterday's metal "flowers" are no real competition for early Spring in the garden.

As for yesterday's strange family heirloom the explanation is as follows.
Mrs. K's late father was an engineer who specialised in Vibration. Indeed he wrote a book on the subject.

The photo showed a model which was presented to him when he retired.
The full scale machine was a vibration testing rig. Many materials and objects can be affected by vibration and when placed on the rig they could be subjected to simulated long term intense forms of this. This could help to avoid disaster in such things as airliners.

Thanks to everybody for their good wishes to Mrs.K. She was delighted to read them.
Her new hip was a success and she is walking well. Unfortunately she has suffered a bad reaction to one of the post op drugs. I am looking forward to bringing her home on Monday.
