Drove up to Yorkshire yesterday to start our holiday with Sue & Steve. We have known these two a few years now on and off. Steve suggested the holiday together, he picked the location and accommodation, it looked and sounded ok and the price was reasonable so we went with the flow.

Further inspection after 24 hours wasn`t so good. Building has been well renovated, with two fab bathrooms, conservatory and lovely patio and good sized lounge and bedrooms, nothing much else could be said.
Furniture old and fusty and mis-matched. No decent cooking utensils, no broadband/WiFi or phone signal unless you drive 3 miles outside the village. The cooker conked out yesterday just as the Yorkshire puds were about to go in. The only saving grace was that the cottage owner managed to get a new one installed while we had gone out to York.

York was heaving with tourists. Spent the few hours we had there in and out of shops. The Minster was £14 for a tour...last time I was there it was free
