A wild goose chase

Not that I am claiming this as a goose but it was a bonus for making the effort to go out and was only a few hundred metres from the house. Still quite rare up here, this one has been hanging about for several months now and this is the closest it has got to our house yet.
A friend normally does the goose count for Grimsay, part of a national survey, but was away so I stepped into the breach. Not often one bothers to look too carefully for Greylags but a few were found before I settled down to watch a couple of games of rugby in the afternoon, interrupted only by the traditonal dash out at 5 pm to buy the Saturday Times.
