Queens, NY: Window on the sky

This was taken at P.S. 1 MoMA in Queens. It is a view of the blue sky from inside the galleries. The piece, by artist James Turrell, is titled "Meeting," and it features a rectangular space cut in the ceiling of a square room, completely open to the sky. The room has wooden benches where people can sit, though many visitors simply lie down on the carpeted floor and gaze upwards. Birds fly past, a plane sails by, clouds move across the blue. Remarkable and serene.
