The time has come..........

After 37 days away from home, we have travelled overnight via Dubai, back to the UK. A total of about 23 hours door to door, which included 2 flights each of about 7.5 hours.
We've done a lot of travelling over this period, but wonderful, fun travelling, not tedious modes of transport. A quick estimate makes it about 4 speedboats, 5 ferry journeys, and 12 long-tailed boat trips.
We both agree that it's been the most fabulous holiday we have ever had. Great fun, and so relaxing, and I feel 100 times better than when we left home, after being poorly with shingles over Christmas. Even up to the week that we went, we weren't sure if I would be ok to travel.
Apart from a brief 2 or 3 days in the second week, when I had to visit a skin clinic on the mainland, the fresh air, warm climate, and several times per day long swims in the sea have been a perfect remedy.
Of course the best bit was seeing our family in the first week - even though that seems an age away now. We had a super time together.
We arrived home about lunchtime on Saturday, and an "extraordinary Huff" had been arranged with 7 friends, including (and organised by) Technophobe and LooseCanon. Unfortunately C and I both fell asleep mid Saturday afternoon, and it was only a phone call from TP at 7:20 pm that woke us (we had been awake for a total of 43 hours by then as we flew overnight and left Thailand at 1 a.m. so had already been up all day when we took off). We jumped up, a quick sploosh and then scampered up the road, for what tasted like the best fish and chips ever.
Thanks J & P for organising our "welcome home" (as well as the flowers in the hall!)
Now back to reality and work on Monday where it will have to be a mega-catch-up, but that's the price we have to pay .....................
I apologise for the quality of this shot, but it was taken through two sheets of glass, which are the sides to a walking pavement in Dubai Airport. The extra I took just after take-off as the sun came up over Dubai.
