St.- Gillis Church

The St.-Gillis church history starts  in 1240. Halfway the 17th century the church was renovated into a baroque church .In and around the 19th century the church was almost a ruin ,and the church was ready for a completely demolition . But after all ,the church ,as it is partly seen here , got rebuilt into a neo gothic style. Notice also that this church has a clock . It is the only clock on a church tower in this town. Inside is a painting collection of a few famous Flemish painters from the 15th - 16th century as there is Pieter Pourbus and so on....
