...Effigy :D

I've been busy today taking photos of the Auld Kirk in Cullen for a new guide book. This character has a fascinating history (post mortem - I know nothing about his life). He was allegedly "adopted" by a local family, and the date of his death edited, to make them look more prestigious and of longer standing among the local bigwigs. When they'd made their fortune and a built their stately pile a few miles away, he was removed from Cullen in 1792 and put in their private chapel. He was daringly "rescued" and returned to Cullen in 1965!
