Storm Light Swan
Jazzy and I got rained on during our walk and we didn't see anything of interest to snap. In the end I decided to go to Fishers Green and shelter from the rain in the Bittern Hide. It was really cold in there today. A parakeet visited and I failed to capture it in flight. A blue tit popped into a bird box and decided to stay there. At first it was very grey when the rain stopped but suddenly the sun broke through and dark clouds gathered to the south. I photographed a flock of young swans taking to the air in the special storm light. This light is amazing but very fleeting.
Today's poem is Discipline by George Herbert. http://www.luminarium.org/sevenlit/herbert/discipln.htm
The poet is asking God to deal with his frailties with love rather than with anger and punishment. They're not necessary because Herbert loves God.
