Seriously??
More snow? We expected it yesterday, but not today! We have another 4 inches of wet heavy snow at our place.
It started snowing heavily around 9 am. We had a flat tire to drop off at a garage and I got out of the car for about 2 seconds to take this photo. Then we had a meeting. By the time we headed home, the roads were slippery. We got a couple of kilometres from home and couldn't make it up a hill. There were several other cars that hadn't been able to make it up and had been left on the side of the road, so there was only one lane for anyone who could make it up, and fingers crossed that no one was coming down! The neighbour who was at the meeting with us was one of the cars stuck. Fortunately G had left the chains in the car, so he and our neighbour put them on while I went part way up the hill to caution anyone driving down to drive carefully. I didn't want G or B to get hit while they were putting on the chains! Another vehicle tried to make it up and started sliding sideways close to the ditch, so with G and B pushing, the driver was able to get going and made it up. Meanwhile, a truck with another neighbour and her 3 kids came along, and the driver didn't want to risk the hill, so we all piled in our car and delivered them safely to their driveway. Not a good idea to walk on our narrow road in such slippery conditions! We took B up to his house to get his chains, had a quick lunch, then G and B went back down to get B's car. The road was a bit better, so B was able to get up the hill without the chains. It's 4 pm, the snow plow just came by, and we should be okay to get out tomorrow. We have an important appointment in Nanaimo and are hopeful that the roads on the big island will be okay.
I guess it isn't spring yet!
