Looking After Dad.......
......Whilst my Mum is in Sydney gallivanting and cavorting with my Brother and family.
I have to say that in some ways its been pretty cruisy....Dad and I are similar that we like to have a chat but then we like our own space and leave each other alone...on the other hand the dog and cat have been playing up and leaving not so nice presents around the place (in response to Mum not being here...spoiled brats)...Ive had to clean it all up.
Ive managed to get Dad out of the house twice today....we went to the shops and then this afternoon I took him to the beach to wizzzz up and down the promenade on his trolly. I fixed up the dog carrier on the front so little Charlie had a sweet ride and Rumi came with me.
Gosh! I was in heaven on the beach...the clouds so low and gorgeous..rainbows and a lovely cool breeze.....It was just one of those perfect afternoons...hard to explain but we have all experienced it (I am presuming here)....I would of liked to of spent a long time but unfortunately it started to rain....(I am not complaining...we certainly need some of that wet stuff that falls from the sky) I was hoping Dad wasn't getting too wet.
As I ran up the promenade looking for him I asked a woman if she had seen an old bloke on a trolley with a little dog...'yes he is sitting under a shop awning keeping dry'......of course he was I was the silly plonker that got soaked looking for him.
I think he really enjoyed the outing though and even getting bit wet...when we got home he went and got cozy in his jim jams and I made his tea.
I am hoping to take him further afield tomorrow weather permitting...I think its good to get him out and about even though my hand is giving me jip lifting his trolly in and out of the car.
I can relate to this......
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”
