Red Nerine (Guernsey Lily)

This plant comes from my Grandpa's house.  A few years ago a dear friend shared some of her precious Nerine bulbs with me and these too are popping their heads through the dry soil. My garden is a constant reminder of precious friendships.
I met up with an old and very dear friend today; one of those friends with whom the connection remains, despite no contact for well over 3 decades. As a child I always thought her family was the ideal family while mine seemed somehow lacking. How strange to hear that she'd thought the same about me. We've still so much in common, despite having very different experiences over the past decades.
It's connections, sometimes invisible, which make us thrive in the world.
