CannyScot's Day

Crail Harbour

A glorious sunny day

It was such a nice day we decided to drive over the Saint Andrews. The old Cathedral ruins looked good in the sunshine as we walked around. There are so many old building in the town, including the Castle down at the water's edge. We could see clearly right over to Dundee and the Angus Glen's, where the hills were covered in snow - a distance of about 50 miles..

We headed down to Crail for some lunch and found the Gallery Cafe. We sat outside in a real sun trap, overlooking the Harbour and out to the Isle of May and over to the Bass Rock and even Berwick Law in East Lothian. It was truly a spectacularly bright, blue sky which was reflected in the almost Mediterranean sea.

Down by the old Harbour there were a few brightly coloured boats. The access to the harbour is down very steep roads - a feature of these East Fife coastal towns.

Back home it was time for Eleanor to make some pancakes for Shrove Tuesday - with ice cream and fruit topping, very yummy.
