Imperial War Museum
As we only had today free in London J and S decided they would like to see the IWM. It was great to be able to go round and talk about things together. they have learned a lot in school and all the things brought it to life. It was a bit harrowing too - rightly so.
Just to top off all our travel woes, we got to Victoria train station to find all trains to Gatwick ariport cancelled due to Storm Doris. There were thousands of frustrated travellers trying to get to Gatwick. When a train did pull in there was a mad rush. We were towards the back, thankfully, because I think there was a fight or something because the police were called and rushed through the crowd. We pulled out as I didn't want J and S exposed to whatever was going on.
Thankfully just as we were walking away from that platform a train pulled into a platform near us. It wasn't a Gatwick Express but a slow train to Littlehampton that stopped at Gatwick. J, S and I even managed to get seats as we got on before the rush. By the time the train left teh station it was full to bursting but we got to Gatwick in time to make our flight!
