Redish Dusk
Rain in the early morning but then it dried up and turned in to a very good sunny day.
Hope the sun also came out in 1000km+ to the west of here for the Bliping Sisters family meeting. Shame the evening sky was not as Red as I would have liked it but a tinge of pink at least. Would be nice to think the day was warm enough for a Pimms!
Had been too busy doing clearing up jobs outside to manage a photo during the day. Repairing and building a few wild bird nest boxes. As I parked the car at the lakes this evening a report came on the radio about someone who has built a large outdoor cage for his chickens which conforms with the current bird flu lock up ban. The person only has half a dozen chickens. We also have a large outdoor run that conforms but it's still wholly inadequate. The girls need to get out on the muck heap.
The ban has been i place since mid November and apparently there is no suggestion it will be lifted soon. Like the UK, commercial free range farms are having the labelling hassle but I quite understand the background - we consumers need to know and can make our own decision. I think here such farms can add an extra label to say they would be free ´range but for the ban.
I am wholly against the ban and consider it very dangerous as it strengthens the case for battery farms. Thus it is in the interest of these powerful businesses and feed producers to keep the ban in place as long as possible.
