Magical realism...

..was the buzz word of tonight's book group meeting.  We discussed 'The Sellout' by Paul Beatty which most of us didn't finish, or hated, but not all of us...

As an antidote to the recent heavy-going choices we voted to read 'Secret Keeper' by Kate Morton next, as modelled in the extra by our lovely host Henny.  This is quite a departure from the usual fare (we have a reputation for choosing serious or depressing books) so I left - very late for a school night - with quite a skip in my step.
