PUKEKO (Porphyrio porphyrio)

One cant help but think the pukeko(swamp hen) with its use of its claw for feeding itself and its young should not be a member of the parrot family. Apparently not though. My close encounter with this one today demonstrated as I watched its dexterity with its claw. Nice. - It wasnt at all bothered about me. The extra is another view - I tossed up which one was for the front page and this one made it - what do you think??
