September Challenge - Herb - Is it or isn't it?
Day 1 of the September Food Challenge - Herb.
I found a variety of answers to the question is garlic a herb?
Dictionary.com has the following definitions -
1. a flowering plant whose stem above ground does not become woody.
2. such a plant when valued for its medicinal properties, flavour, scent, or the like.
Garlic certainly fulfils definition 1, and it is valued for many properties - medicinal, flavouring, though its value for its scent is probably questionable.
So, a quick trip to the fridge, out with the garlic (part used) and a quick blip.
Now, I did think of doing something with Parsley the Lion, Dill the dog, or Bayleaf the gardener from the Herbs, but they didn't have a character called Garlic, and I didn'thave any fresh parsley, dill or bayleaves, so garlic on its own it had to be.
