Flower Friday - Gerbera

There's still rather a shortage of flowers in the garden at the moment but I was fortunate that some of MrsC's Valentine flowers are still in reasonable nick. This Gerbera is the best-preserved of them.

It's a member of the daisy family (as one would expect from its general shape & form) which, according to Wikipedia, was named in honour of German botanist and medical doctor Traugott Gerber[3] | (1710-1743) who travelled extensively in Russia and was a friend of Carl Linnaeus.

Thanks as ever to BikerBear for hosting FF. She suggested "Mad March Hare" as the fun optional twist today but regrettably I didn't have time to work on that :-))
